Travelling - A cure to narrow-mindedness

This is  2018 which means  2018 years have passed since the birth of Jesus. It's like lots of years. Everything around us has evolved. The things that took days to complete are now done in seconds. We have got everything in our fingers tip. We hardly need to leave our houses if not for office. Technology has given us a way for everything from shopping to socializing to handling our
business. Even, for the thing, as intimate as getting a partner, technology has drastically made our life easier and better. And sometimes I wonder if technology really has such as huge power then why haven't we found a solution to hatred. Why can't we get an app that can make us love others more? Why are we still killing each other? Why are we sending our children to war? Why do we build borders and boundaries and walls? Why not relationships? It seems technology hasn't got a solution for everything. It's not a panacea. Sometimes it takes human touch - real human involvement to address some issues and one of those real human involvement is traveling.

travel quotes

Going to a foreign land and meeting people who follow different culture, have different styles of clothing, have different taste of foods, worship different God. Travelling broadens our myopic view of the world. It gives us a chance to be in someone else's shoes and see things from their point of view. It's such a thrilling experience to be in a different land and talk to different people and in
doing so you realize the other person is as hungry for love and care as you are. You realize except for the physical appearance and culture everything is the same. See no matter what language we speak but we all use the same vocal chords to make a sound. No matter what perspective we have of the world but we all use the same eyes to see it. Doesn't matter which God, we believe in but we all have the same little heart that stores those faiths and beliefs. We are all the same. We all have been molded with the same mud.

Not just that, traveling expands our consciousness, our knowledge. It serves us an amazing experience by letting us see different landscapes and sceneries. Traveling is one of the ways to alter our consciousness, and I do agree, traveling requires money especially visiting a foreign country and not all of us is that affluent. So for those of us who cannot afford to travel should at least walk. Walk your nearby countryside. Go out in the woods. Go take a stroll in a solitary way. The point here is to keep moving. We are not stooges or stagnant beings. We have two legs we are born to walk. You remember, as a kid, how excited we were to go out of the house. how excited and stubborn we were to walk on our two legs? We stumbled. We fell but we never gave up and I think we need to revive that same willingness to walk again, to travel again. We are all travelers. We are all walkers not the dead ones from "The Walking Dead" but the living ones, the ones who breathe, who dream, who feel for each other.

Nothing but keeping ourselves confined to a particular place has bred such intolerance. Maybe, by keeping ourselves more out in nature we might find more compassion and understanding for our fellow natural beings. Even our ancestors survived traveling from place to place, living a nomadic life. So many years past we might have to do that again. We might have to start traveling again to save ourselves. So go out and travel.
