I feel so blessed to be born in a time when we have cinema around us. As one of the forms of art, it lets us spill our imagination on a film roll and give colors and life to those vicarious feelings and turn into reality - a virtual reality. A reality which is as true as reality unless you're not done watching it. The silver screen is kind of a temporary space for us to share with our imagination, with our dreams, with all those fictional characters we admire. And nothing is more spectacular than when those little fables of our dreams and imagination and all those characters are carved out of a book. so whenever I get to watch a movie based on a book I read the book first before watching the movie. It's like I get to watch my imagination, my sketches and doodlings of thoughts that I drew while reading the book is gradually being rendered in colors with a speed of frames per second. It's so exhilarating to watch all those characters and places come alive and move vividly right in front of my eyes. e Every alphabet of the words that describes the physical appearance of a person or a place have come out of the book and have blended in a form of the thing itself.
I mean watching a movie after reading the book is like waking up from a dream only to find those dreams turn into reality. I mean why is it so? How a book can make watching a movie more beautiful more entertaining? How these novels that despite revealing the plot still make a movie still worthy to watch? I mean watching movie in itself is such an amazing experience. How a little book can magnify such a saturated charmness and the answer is imagination. It all comes down to human brain.

So when you read a book you don't actually get to see things. You make a kind of movie up in your mind; in your imagination and then when you watch it on a screen you find it strikingly amazing to witness your own thoughts. It's like a child gets to see its own reflection for the first time, gaping at its own physical identity. It's like Narcissus bewitched by its own beauty. Books feed our imagination and anything that feed our imagination is ought to be beautiful and that's the reason why just watching a movie that is based on a book can never justify a book. Book in itself is so deep and dense, a movie can only sail through. It can never penetrate the depth and insight that book can provide you. There is a kind of independence in depicting emotions through words that can never be attained my frames per second.
I believe a writer's hand with a pen has got more freedom than a director's hand with a camera. I really love reading books and watching movies these are the only two things that keep me sane and watching a movie after reading the book gives me the same pleasure as one gets in having orgasm or getting high on weed. So next time you plan a movie based on a book you might want to read the book first.
