5 Psychological Life Lessons from Iron Man- Tony Stark

Of all the characters and superheroes in the marvel universe, Tony stark's character is the most detailed one. From his flaws to his advantage, everything has been presented without any sugar-coating. His self-righteousness, his ego, self-obsession, How his mortality scares him? Nothing has been concealed. And why is so?
Because in the end, he is just a human being, like all of us. He isn't just about all good. He is not some god from another planet nor he has any superhuman or trained physical abilities.

All he has his mind and his will to survive, like us. So, in this video, we will talk about the 5 most fundamental things about Tony Stark's character. And we will try to understand his personality with a completely new perspective.

1. He is unconventional.

The one thing that makes Tony Stark different from other superheroes is his attitude. While superheroes usually want their identities to remain hidden, Tony Stark reveals his identity in front of the whole press. While superheroes work living underground, Tony Stark lives in the city among people, in his huge tower.

He doesn't conform to societal expectations, which also makes him so appealing and attractive. What do people expect of him? What should he do for society? These things don't matter much to him. In the case of Tony Stark, it is his way or no way. And not that it always goes well with others. Sometimes it doesn't. But my point is that we also need to be unconventional to a certain extent in our approach especially with our work. If you want your work to be noticed in this rat-race, then you will have to do it differently. Be unconventional. Like Tony Stark.

2. He speaks his mind.

Tony stark has a reputation of not mincing words in conversations. Whatever opinion he has of you, he will say right on your face. He doesn't care how you feel about it. If there is something good in you, he will appreciate it. If there is something bad, he will say right on the spot. And we should also practice this habit in our relationships, friendships. It makes things less confusing and brings clarity. We also tend to give false assurance to friends regarding their work just so that they feel good about themselves. But false assurance is a very big reason why we don't make rapid improvements in our work. The earlier you find mistakes in your work the faster you will improve. Like Tony Stark, we should also put our honest opinions among our friends. And also seek them from others.

Because there is no real progress without true and honest criticism. So always speak your mind, like Tony Stark.

3- He has a sense of urgency.

Every superhero in the marvel universe is mortal. Even Thor, who is a god, can die. But in the whole Marvel series, it's Tony's death that has been shown up close. Tony Stark became Iron Man to save himself from death. The arc reactor in his chest, his iron suit, the palladium that was slowing killing him. His every early invention was to save himself. Iron man, along with fighting the evil in the world, also fights his death.

And this mortal danger increases even more in his life after the first Avengers film. After the New York alien attack, Tony realizes his limit and the complexity and mystery of the inevitable problems. one day he will not be enough. Maybe he will fail.

And this fear creates a sense of urgency in his life. Because of this he obsessively upgrades his suit. Before the day comes, he wants to be fully prepared. And just like Tony Stark, if we too want to stay relevant in this high-tech world, in this fast-changing world then consider to constantly upgrade our knowledge and skill set.

4 - He has playfulness.

There is no other charismatic character like Tony Stark in the whole
marvel universe. The first reason is Robery Downy Jr. himself. The way he has played the character, he is irreplaceable. We cannot even imagine someone else as an Ironman.
And the second reason is Tony Stark's nature. He is full of fun and a man of high spirits. In Tony Stark's every style, the way he talks, the way he fights, the way he argues, even the way he show-offs, there is a liveliness, there is a jolly mood.

Yes, it's a different thing that sometimes this playfulness changes into arrogancy, some times into self- obsession, sometimes into madness. But whatever, at least he is not boring.

Even on the battlefield, Tony Stark has a very different style, which doubles the thrill of watching action scenes.

5 - He is a mechanic.

Whenever we see an Iron man movie, we only find the two identities of Tony Stark that are mostly highlighted. The one where he is in his Tuxedo as one of the richest persons and second where he is fighting in the Iron man suit. But I think there is also a third identity of Iron man which does not get much screen time nor much acknowledgment.

And that is when he is working alone in his garage as a mechanic. It is not that relevant to the main story plot. Such scenes are often shown in time-lapse. But if there is any scene in the movie which shows the real strength of Tony Stark then it is this when he is working alone. Much of the up-gradation in his suit is done between the movies. Meaning we don't get to see it on screen. You have to infer it by yourself. You will have to look between the movies. And this is essential if truly want to get the essence of Tony Stark.

Champions are not made in the ring. They are merely recognized there. All these real-life champions, be it Mohammad Ali or Messi or Virat Kohli, we all know them as champions only because of their achievements. But they have been working on their skills from a very young age. They have given hours and hours in their craft. To get perfect at it. But all we see is when they are lifting the trophy not when they are working alone.

And the reality is that if you want to hone your skill and achieve mastery over it, then you need to give time to it. And you have to give a lot of time. You cannot achieve mastery in anything in a week.

Tony Stark is Ironman not just because he has an Iron man suit but because he is also willing to work like an Iron man. Like a mechanic. For hours and hours. Alone in his garage.
