Since human evolution art has been one of the key things which have contributed a lot in making our world meaningful and beautiful. It is the thing that has given us the eyes to the aesthetic values, but it has been long since we have altered or broadened the horizon of art.
So, what is an art and who is an artist? Is it merely the one who paints, sings or writes is an artist.
To me, Art is all about emotions. If any piece of your work carries your emotion is an art. And this is what musicians, writers, and painters do, and we call them artists. So, what would we say to people who use the same emotion in creating a product - rather industrial product? Is he/she not an artist?
The counterculture was the voice to all the alienated kids who were rebellious enough to revamp the dead culture. And Steve certainly fit in that. He was a sandal wearing, pot-smoking hippie who was constantly frowned by the fact of his adoption at birth. He even travelled to India in search of spirituality that he hoped would put an end to his chaotic life.
Steve, like every other artist, took the inspiration from the troubled water of his life and used it in shaping himself as one of the greatest entrepreneur of the 21st century or an artist in disguise.
In the meanwhile, Jobs dropped in back to those classes that fascinated him. And his fascination was certainly not science or technology. He took creative classes such as, music, dance, art and the most remarkable of all- the calligraphy class that went on to make the world’s 1st personal computer with beautiful typography.
If Steve had never dropped in on that course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, it’s likely that no personal computer would have them.

They balanced each other, and the total was greater than the sum of the parts. That’s how he saw business: great things in business are never done by one person, they’re done by a team of people.
One famous line by Steve was ” You’ve baked a really lovely cake, but then you’ve used dog shit for frosting.” It is the obsession of Steve that makes you amazed every time you touch any Apple products.
People who worked in the Macintosh were musicians and poets and artists and zoologists and historians who also happened to be the best computer scientists in the world. These people under different circumstances were the artist but because of the time they lived in was computing.
